Musings and Personal

Connecting and Sharing

Hubby gave me a book for Christmas called The Art of Asking, by Amanda Palmer.

I connected with Palmer on page 17.

“When artists* work well, they connect people to themselves, and they stitch people to one another, through this shared experience of discovering a connection that wasn’t visible before.”

This sentence hit home because this is my aim in publishing Born in My Heart:  A Bittersweet Adoption Blessing the traditional route.

I want people to connect with me and others through the topics my book addresses – addiction, foster care and adoption, parenting, relationships, and the list goes on – and show those people they aren’t alone.

All the other reasons I want to publish the traditional route stem from this sentence, as branches grow from trees.

*My definition of an artist is one who creates.
